My Project

The classroom sets of novels in the project will help my students to deepen their understanding of topics we explore in our social studies curriculum. Connecting social studies topics to novels helps students to make connections to the topics and presents the material in a way that is engaging and accessible to students.

Novel studies are great tool for building community within a classroom and the novels in this project will help facilitate meaningful discussions among students.

Through these novels students will be challenged to think critically about challenging texts with the ultimate goal of creating a sense of empathy in our classroom and developing a love for learning through reading.

Mr. Alger will only receive his materials if this project is fully funded by August 1.
