Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day, my students bring curiosity, energy, and a growing desire to understand themselves and others. Our upper elementary students in grades 3–5 are learning how to navigate big emotions, build positive relationships, and work collaboratively in a supportive environment. When provided with the right space and resources, they rise to the challenge with empathy and kindness.

This project will provide two tables, chairs, and a shelf for our campus Kindness Lab, a space dedicated to social-emotional learning and collaboration.

The tables and chairs will allow students to gather in small groups during SEL lessons, encouraging meaningful discussions, teamwork, and problem-solving. Comfortable seating helps students feel safe and supported as they share ideas, reflect on their feelings, and practice respectful communication.

The shelf will help organize materials and maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere, allowing students to focus on learning rather than distractions. Together, these resources will transform the Kindness Lab into a purposeful and inviting space where students can learn empathy, collaboration, and kindness in a meaningful way. This project supports the whole child by creating not just a place to sit, but a space where students can grow socially and emotionally.
