My Students

Every student should have equal access to the resources they need in order to be successful.

I teach Sixth Grade Science in a high-need community with large special education and English language learner populations.

We are a Title I school with more than fifty percent of our population receiving free or reduced lunch. My students are hardworking and want to be as successful as possible.

My Project

My students need an Acer Aspire Netbook computer and 2 covers. In my district, students are required to do Science Fair and other projects, which require typing, which requires a computer that many students do not have at home. Students give up their lunchtime to type and research their project. Having a set of Netbooks that students can check out and take home will give equal access to computers and help level the playing field for those without.

Not having a computer at home - like many of my students - seems unfathomable to so many Americans but it is the reality for many of my students.

You have the power to give these students access to the computer. Giving them access to a computer is giving them access to more than the direct information they receive from the computer. It is truly opening their minds to endless possibilities in their future. Your donation will help make it possible for all students to have access to computers.
