Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a third grade teacher at P.S. 43 in the Bronx. This year was a little uncomfortable for my students and myself in our classroom due to the heat and the noise from the highway. My classroom's windows face the Degan highway and when it gets too hot in the room, I have to open the windows. The noise is unbearable and my students can not concentrate in their work. I will be teaching third grade again in the same room but I do not want this group to go through the same hazard as my other students did. This is why an appealing to a generous heart that could provide my students with a more comfortable learning environment by giving us an air-conditioning unit that could cool our classroom. That way we would not have to open the windows and compete with the noise from the busy highway. I tried to raise some money by selling them pencils at 5 cents but my heart did not allow me to charge them anymore. So I used the money to buy them pizza for passing the test in that uncomfortable environment. My new students and students to come will be very thankful for your help.
