My Project

The development of our campus over the years and its transformative legacy is an understated achievement. Students must rise above adversity and distress to become successful citizens who contribute to the community. The addition of a wellness room will help our students to positively exert their frustrations while developing their emotional intelligence.

With rising amounts of mental health issues combined with a rigorous curriculum, examinations, and constant challenges to reach their full potential academically, students would benefit from retreating to a place of solace when overwhelmed.

It has been exhausting transitioning since the pandemic and students are struggling now, more than ever. Unfortunately, not all students have peace at home; but all students deserve to have peace of mind.

This project aims to bring a "Serenity Room" to our campus. Once students walk in, the atmosphere will be one with calming lights and soothing sounds. The no-maintenance, artificial plants will give the aesthetic of tranquility. Students will have the option to visit the punching bag to exert built-up aggression or an art station where they can practice art therapy through sketching, painting, or coloring. There will be Soduku and jigsaw puzzles to keep their mind occupied and offer a thought-provoking distraction from whatever they are experiencing. Stress balls will be available for those who need tangible stimulation for the nervous system to relax muscles and relieve stress. The overall goal is for students to be able to identify and positively cope with negative emotions.

All of our promising scholars have the potential to improve academically once their mind is at ease. They are extremely talented and innovative. Crafting and exercising may ignite the next Van Gogh or Muhammad Ali. At a minimum, this addition can prevent the future leaders of tomorrow from making permanent decisions based on temporary emotions.
