My students walk into class every day with excitement, ready to learn, and full of wonder about what the day has in store. I tell them, "If something is hard or you can't do it yet, it's because you haven't learned how. Don't give up!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
I teach at a Title I school, in Northern California, where many of our amazing students come from bilingual households and over 40 percent receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
They are thrilled to be in school. because they want to learn, and I am so proud to be their teacher!
My Project
I am requesting 3 Bee-Bot Transparent pocket mats for my Kindergarten students. We were lucky to borrow 3 Bee-Bots for Hour of Code and will soon be receiving some of our own. Some of my Kinder students are ready to read First grade sight words while others students are still working on letter sounds. During the same center, I can easily put First grade sight words in the pockets for my advanced learners and then as we rotate activities, I can quickly change the pocket cards to meet the level of the students who will be at that station.
My students love coding and these mats will make a huge difference in my ability to personalize learning across the curriculum for each of my students.
Every student will have the opportunity to work on coding as well as reading and math skills at their individual level. Thank you for reading our proposal and supporting education. We appreciate the support!
