My Project

Manga is one of the most requested genres for our elementary library. These titles will be perfect for our budding collection, especially for our struggling readers. The combination of visual context clues and fast-paced dialogue is perfect for building confidence in readers who feel overwhelmed by dense walls of text.

Why Manga Works for Struggling Readers?

Visual Context: If a student doesn't know a word, the illustration often explains it for them.

High Engagement: The "page-turner" nature of manga keeps kids from getting bored.

Vocabulary Growth: Despite being comics, manga often uses sophisticated vocabulary within its dialogue.

This "starter kit" includes the first few books in each series. Chi’s Sweet Home, Yotsuba&!, and The Fox & Little Tanuki are perfect additions for our growing Manga section.
