Help me give my students a Macbook Air and protective items for summer safekeeping to add to our technology corner where we will stream live wildlife cams, sync our 3D printing workstation, and work on our Oculus Quest.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Flora's classroom raised $1,800

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all extraordinary kids! Most of these students reside in a poor, urban area that is grossly underfunded, and, in some areas, lacking even the most basic of needs. Yet, although many of them come from tough neighborhoods and lifestyles, they are strong, smart, and full of life. These are the scientists of tomorrow.
Each of these individuals has a mind for science and a contribution to make to the scientific world.
Their ingenuity is exceptional, and their thirst for learning is unquenchable. I learn more from them than they do from me! My kids are the kinds of kids that inspire innovation. They are the example that leaders should be following and the hope that will fuel the future.
My Project
Our science classroom is in need of upgrades for our classroom technology corner and makerspace. Through the blessing of Donorschoose and this amazing community, we were able to fund several technology projects that include 3D printing, a livestream camera, and an Oculus Quest. These items are amazing and are a wonderful start to our classroom technology corner. I am requesting a Macbook Air and protective items for summer safekeeping to add to our technology corner where we will stream live wildlife cams, sync our 3D printing workstation, and work on our Oculus Quest. The laptop will be used to support the makerspace, largely with the 3D printing station, where students can create 3D environmental and chemistry figures and models.
In order to have a successful technology corner and makerspace, we need functioning computers and laptops that we can use to support programs and software necessary to make our tech items work.
The laptop I am requesting will be the second Mac product that we will use in this space (the first is a live project on Donorschoose presently that we hope to fund before summer ends). With the inclusion of these Mac products, we will have a ready-to-go tech corner when we return to school in fall.
Technology items go a long way in underserved schools such as mine. Inner city schools are often without many of the luxuries that schools in suburban areas receive. Tech items like these are usually last on the list of priorities for school funding. Supporting this will give students access to up-to-date technologies that support a modernized, growing science classroom.
