A Love of Writing Starts in Kindergarten

Help me give my students a love for writing. We do lots of brainstorming during the writing process and these large easel pads are perfect for displaying my students ideas and large enough for them to see.

My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title I school. This year I have 22 kiddos in my class and they have lots of energy. I am really trying to expand my writing lessons with my students.

Due to the pandemic I feel many of my students entered kindergarten with somewhat of a disadvantage.

Many of my students do not have any prior schooling experiences or even daycare enrollment to work on their social skills.

My Project

These large easel pads are perfect to display our brainstorming during our writing process. The large pages make it much easier for the students to see from their seats while they are doing their individual sentence writing.

The highlighters will come in very handy while we are self -correcting our writing.

Looking for our capital letters and punctilio marks can be tricky for little learners! Writing can be challenging for our younger learners as many still struggle with proper pencil grip and confidence. I love watching my students grow and become proud of all of their hard work and progress.
