My fifth grade students are very special to me for many reasons. They are very independent, full of energy, and passionate young learners. They enjoy learning new science skills, as well as the past of Virginia's history. Being independent and having a love for learning are very important assets that I like to instill in my students, in order to help them transition smoothly to the middle school next year. My students are in a fast paced learning environment and organization is key to success.
Many of my students have special needs or accommodations and need to feel comfortable in the classroom by having the necessary tools, equipment, and materials to keep them engaged and successful.
A majority of our students in our Title I school come from low income families with limited resources due to our small rural community. My students are creative, energetic, and enjoy exploring the scientific world. Many of them are only able to experience that at school due to limitations at home. I want my students to be successful and have the materials/support that they need in order to be life long learners and become the little scientists they long to be!
My Project
Having laminating pouches in our classroom would allow us to create and maintain various activities and lessons. The laminating pouches would allow me to laminate vocabulary cards for the students to match and practice during remediation. They could be saved and used for many years to come. The laminating pouches would also come in handy when I need to laminate a game or activity to use with the students in class or in remediation.
Laminating science and history activities and lessons keeps classroom items in good condition and allows you to use them for many years to come!
Many of our students need extra practice labeling or making notes on diagrams and graphic organizers. I would use the laminating pouches on these items to allow the students to practice labeling and note taking on them and then still be able to use them with other students and for other classes.
My students would thoroughly enjoy having laminating pouches to keep name tags, awards, and labels too! Some of my special needs students require reminders or schedules and laminating them for their desks would be a great addition to helping with their organization and school routine. Laminating items keeps the classroom looking neat, but also allows you to reuse and maintain the activities that you have!
The Clorox wipes will be wonderful for cleaning the desks, tables, and chairs. They will keep things neat and clean; keeping the germs away!
