A Love for Autism

Help me give my students items like inflatable chairs, a sensory tent, hands-on STEM activities, autism-related items, and social skills toys they need in order to have successful futures.

My Project

I am a first-year special education teacher in a middle school Basic Life Skills classroom. The majority of my class is students with autism and intellectual disabilities. My students face enough obstacles in their everyday life, and being able to get an education should not be one of their obstacles.

Please help me provide my students with a classroom where they feel safe when overstimulated or afraid.

The sensory pad, the hideout for kids, and the books will help to provide a safe place for students when overstimulated. The games, such as the marble maze, Jenga, and painting will help to de-escalate, relax, and make social connections with peers. The autism-specific materials will help my students to have a visual schedule so they can keep their routines consistent...And who doesn't like to participate in STEM activities with paint or live animals?

All of the items in my cart will be used to help these students someday become independent adults who loved school. Thank you so much for my helping my students to thrive!
