Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This past year, my group of students were fully remote, which means that they learned entirely from home. Now, this September, the students returned to the classroom for the first time in almost two years! Since we are teaching an ICT class, my co-teacher and I have to constantly differentiate the curriculum. Our students are patient, kind, hard-working, and come to each morning right at 8:30 AM. They need more resources to be successful this year!

Each school year, I get a group of students who inspire me to do more to help them reach their potential and this year couldn’t be more true.

Despite the obstacles this school year brings for our community, they continue to impress us on a daily basis. The best thing is that each morning we are greeted with all smiles!

My Project

The Little Free Diverse Library will be such an amazing addition to our school! The students will be able to take out cultural responsive books to read on their own. On the other hand, they can replace or put a book they have read in the library for someone else. Since returning to school, our students needs to be reminded of the pleasure of reading! This library will be filled with a variety of books for students to choose from. They can bring the books home to read and trade them when they finish!

This project will help my students create something unique just for them as well as encourage reading books!
