Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having a calming spot in our classroom will help students learn about redirecting and managing their feelings and emotions. The posters will be posted low to the ground near the rug so that students can use them as a visual reference. The Little Spot read aloud will be a part of this section with the Little Spot characters. The lamps and pillows will create a nice ambiance for them in this spot.

This special little spot will be a learning station for students to learn to self regulate and manage their emotions.

Success in managing our emotions will promote overall growth and learning. My goal is for my students to feel safe and welcomed in our classroom. This will help set the foundation of social emotional learning for my young students.
