With the items I have chosen for my students they will learn about interacting with others and the social skills needed to be a caring citizen. They will practice sharing, socializing, and most importantly they will practice, develop, and acquire the language skills needed to be a 21st century learner. Students need the opportunity to develop these in a non-threatening way through dramatic play. In a world where technology seems to overpower social interaction in many young children; I want to provide exploration with lifelike items. The dolls, dishes, and play food will provide these experiences for my new students.
