This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Access to books is more important than access to the internet for the development of critically thinking young people.

Too often, the internet tells them what to think.

A good book, taught properly, teaches them to think for themselves.

We are in need of new books. My students have made great progress this year towards mastery of language arts, primarily by means of novel study. Most importantly, they have discovered that they love reading, and are now excited to search the library for a new discovery that broadens their understanding of the world, around them and of their place in it. Thank you for supporting my students in becoming critically-thinking, conscientious young adults and helping us add these new books to our classroom.
