My Project

After 12 years of teaching—seven of those as a Special Education teacher in co-taught classrooms—I’m stepping into my first year of leading my own English-Language Arts classroom for grades 6 through 8. With this exciting new chapter comes the opportunity to build a vibrant and engaging learning environment from the ground up—one that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a deep love of reading.

My students, aged 10–14, attend a Title I school where many families face financial hardships.

At home, access to books, games, and puzzles is limited. In our classroom, I want to change that narrative. I’m requesting a diverse selection of age-appropriate books and interactive learning materials—like puzzles and games—that will encourage students to read more, think critically, and engage with learning in fun, meaningful ways.

These tools won’t just fill shelves—they’ll spark minds. The more positive and varied learning experiences I can offer, the more students will associate reading and literacy with joy, success, and personal growth. Your support will help me create a space where students feel empowered and inspired—where every day in class is a step toward confidence and academic achievement.
