My Project

This project is focused on expanding my classroom library with books that are culturally relevant to my African American students. My students need to see themselves in the books that are made available to them.

It is my goal to offer books that showcase African American history, culture, and pride to every student that enters my classroom.

The incorporation of a culturally enriched library is something that my students need and deserve to have. A library like this will introduce them to African Americans from all walks of life and also offer affirmations and encouragement to my students.
