Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first graders are highly enthusiastic, they are hard-working and creative individuals. Many come from low-income households but despite their hardships they come to class eager and ready to learn. They are currently in need of supplies and classroom resources that our school is unable to provide.
My students have faced many challenges during the pandemic, yet they have proven to be resilient through these tough times.
I truly care about them and I want them to have a successful learning experience.
My Project
I am requesting a laminating machine and pouches to use in our classroom. Laminating my students' work helps me save paper and at the same time I am teaching my students to reuse, reduce, and recycle. Each year I spend lots of time creating posters, rubrics, and other visual aids that support my students' learning. The laminating machine would save us precious instructional time. I will use the laminating machine to create word cards and reading passages that will allow my students to read, write, and trace. The durable plastic film will keep my students active and engaged. They will have numerous opportunities to write on top of the sheets. We will also use the laminating machine to share poems and art projects that students can take home.
Parents will keep these mementos and cherished them for the years to come!
My students and I look forward to getting this project fully funded. I know my students will benefit from having a laminating machine that will enhance daily instruction as well as keep us proactive in regards to saving paper. We thank you in advance and hope you can donate to our project.
