My students need 3 Sort & Store Book Organizers to keep and organize the books in our classroom library.
This project expired on April 10, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
"So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away, And in its place you can install, A lovely bookshelf on the wall." Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In my class, I teach a love of reading but have found that I need a place to store all of the wonderful books I have.
I teach at a Title 1 school where about 60% of the students receive free or reduced lunch.
My students do not have many resources available to them at home so I feel it is my job to provide them what they need while they are at school. One of the most important things that I try to share with my students is a love of Reading. I do this by providing them with a variety of texts in the classroom.
I have been focusing on building my classroom library for the past few years. Now I find that as my library grows, the books are being forced into a small amount of cardboard book boxes. The new and older books are becoming ripped and torn apart. I teach my students to be responsible with their materials and I would like to show them how to do that by providing them with book boxes to help them organize.
Donations to my project will help the overall organization of my classroom.
Also, by providing my students with the necessary materials, I will also be able to put them in charge of our classroom library. This will teach them responsibility and organization.
