A Harry Potter Literature Study

My 30 students need a class set of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to further advance their reading through an engaging book.

My Students

Do you remember the first time that you found a book that you could not put down? My students show a high interest for Harry Potter though I know most have not read the books. Through this adventurous novel, my students will learn important themes such as friendship, kindness and determination.

My students are avid readers who are dedicated to learning and have set the goal to improve their reading levels this year.

They attend a school community where becoming a quality producer, community contributors and life long time learner is instilled in the curriculum and students reach for these goals in all that they do.

My Project

We are requesting a class set of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone because it is an engaging tale where a boy overcomes a difficult home life and goes on to attend a nontraditional school where he gains friendships and overcomes many obstacles. My students will be able to make connections in this story while they are gaining reading comprehension.

Fourth grade is one of the last years in school where unbelievable tales still seem magical.

My students will learn about friendship and over coming obstacles while improving reading comprehension through reading this book. Your donation to our classroom will not only impact this year's fourth graders, but many future fourth graders.
