This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students are actively engaged in music-making at my school site. This project will aid in providing students with a harp for both our mariachi and orchestra ensembles. Our program is committed to providing each student with the necessary equipment and instructional materials, but we are in need of extra assistance for purchasing a new instrument.

Adding a harp enriches both mariachi and orchestra ensembles by offering students a unique opportunity to develop versatility and cultural musicianship.

As harps are hard to acquire, the addition of one to our program would support students in both orchestra and mariachi. We hope to utilize the harp to encourage more students to enter the program and to expand literature selections for the classes.
