We are working to rebuild the music department within my school. Although some students entered this year with a background in music, several students had never played an instrument before. Currently, music within our library does not meet the difficult level needed for my ensembles. Students are excited about playing music of varying genres. I hope to expose them to music they are familiar and unfamiliar with to aid in a global perspective and understanding of music. Sheet music selected will reflect different genres and cultural backgrounds. The sheet music purchased through this project will ultimately allow students to be successful in their playing while engaging in music stemming from varying backgrounds.
