Help me give my students snacks please, they are in school for almost 9 hours and only have a 20 minute lunch late in the day and the school can not afford to provide everyone with snacks.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are like little versions of myself. They are children from Harlem and the Bronx who think critically, love to learn, and persevere through many challenges and obstacles to be great. They value hands on learning and have the ability to give hope to the future. They love to play at recess give each other encouragement and do all things that involve math and reading. My students are at school from 7:45am to 4:00pm.
Our black and brown 3rd graders are starting to learn specific things to get ready to start their career as test takers.
They have many opportunities to learn and grow to make sure they are well aware citizens of tomorrow. This will truly help.
My Project
My students are often hungry and the school and parents can not always provide snack for kids. We have 32 kids in our classroom and it is important that kids are not hungry. Poverty and food insecurity is a very common issue for the students in Harlem, and our kids will greatly appreciate the snacks.
At 7 and 8 years old we want our little people to have healthy, strong growing brains that only worry about how much knowledge they can obtain.
Our lunch time is very late in the day and we do not have the school budget to provide every kid with a daily snack and a lunch. Please help our little people be able to be their best selves and not have to worry about being hungry. They are truly special and fortunate kids however your contribution will make an impact and a difference.
