Our students are unique because of the diversity found in our classroom. Currently, I teach inclusion geometry with Ms. T. Serving approximately 150 students, inclusion education is the integration of special needs students with the general population.
My classroom is a place for diverse students to learn and grow into young adults with the skills to thrive in our ever-developing world.
These students come from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school is almost all low income with students from all around the world, making 39% of our student's English language learners as well. We have been dubbed the most diverse school in the state of Arkansas. Our goal is to provide every possible advantage for our students to develop the skills necessary to become as successful as they can be, regardless of how their disability may try to hinder them.
My Project
Ever felt bored by your boring old math class? Not anymore! Welcome to the best class ever! Classroom transformations are where a teacher decorates their room with a specific theme to teach a lesson in a more engaging way. This increases student engagement and learning while encouraging students to actively participate in their learning.
Going outside of our comfort zone will help students feel energized by what's happening in their classroom and making learning exciting!
We are requesting a black light, glow sticks, glow tap, a glowing backdrop, glowing markers, backlight face and body paint, and more! These items will be used in multiple different classroom transformations including a glow in the dark theme. Students will be able to engage in a new way of learning and will increase student engagement.
