Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school has approximately 600 students and twenty-five classrooms ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth grade. Ninety-seven percent of students are on free breakfast and lunch assistance. The average salary in their homes is substantially below the national average. My slogan is "Fun in One.” I teach through my slogan. The nurturing environment they receive in my classroom for 180 days is just as important as the one they receive at home. We strive to SOAR every day at our school. Help us be better students every day.
My Project
The Next generation Science standards will help my students choose to take a career path in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The Ki-nex and the plank kits will help my students use their hands and eyes to create buildings, pulleys, and levers. When we work with Keva Builder set, Levers and Pulley Sets, and the Math balance materials will allow my students to understand weight, angles, and how things are built. The students in our classroom must become 21st century learners to help our country become first in STEM careers. The foundation will begin in our classroom and allow the students to think and wonder about how things work.
