A Full Classroom Is a Happy One

Help me give my students a great start to our school year by supporting my classroom. Having a classroom that utilizes our space for student work, notes, and support requires adequate supplies to keep our classroom going!

My Project

I have worked with tons of students over several grades, demographics, and ages for several years. The one clear idea is that students respect a space where they feel important and seen. As a foreign language teacher, most of the content and language they engage and interact with may not be their own. This allows me to supplement my materials with their own work or ideas. However, in order to do that, my classroom will need some support for those efforts.

My students enjoy seeing their classwork, projects, and even their essays around the room.

Having the ability to get information up and down off of the walls seems fairly simple, but is typically difficult as I use a chair and have to do this while students are away to avoid injuries. Something as simple as a hunger pang can interrupt our students mentally, and although it may disrupt our learning environment, a simple snack could offer some relief.

Knowing that they can enter a space where they may need a snack, an encouraging poster, a motivational assignment or just a supportive teacher who can essentially change the entire framework of your student's mindset. My goal with these items is to foster an even stronger classroom environment. Many of the academic strategies we learn cannot replace the importance of the social and emotional well-being of our students. I hope to do both. I hope that I can motivate and push more academic strategies while also balancing the real-life emotions of my students.
