This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students a cozy rocket tent for our classroom calm corner and personalized nameplates to help them feel seen and valued!

My second-grade students are curious, kind, and full of energy.

They thrive in a structured environment where they feel safe, supported, and included. At the start of the school year, I want to create a welcoming space that meets both their academic and emotional needs.

One of my goals is to build a calm corner—a quiet, comforting area where students can take a break when they’re feeling overwhelmed or need a moment to reset. The rocket-shaped tent will turn this space into a fun, peaceful retreat that helps them manage big emotions and return to learning ready to go.

I'm also asking for personalized nameplates so that each child feels a sense of ownership and belonging in the classroom from day one. These small touches go a long way in building a strong classroom community.
