My students need a place where they feel welcomed and are encouraged to learn. A flexible seating classroom using stand up desks and a folding bench, allows them to learn in an environment that meets their specific learning needs.
The students in my school are hard working inquisitive children. Our poverty level is so great that all students in our building receive free breakfast and lunch. Yet, despite the students' obstacles, our building is inviting and full of kindness, learning, and laughter.
Our area may have low socioeconomic status and diversity, but I believe that creating a space of comfort will open up avenues of learning.
I am so excited to see how flexible seating can help change the environment of the classroom.
My students are fabulous and they deserve the same educational opportunities as other students. I want to give my students a strong foundation to become life long learners.
My Project
I am going to spend the summer transforming my classroom into a math cafe! Through much research, I have learned that providing my students will flexible seating will allow them to learn in an enviroment that meets their needs.
My hope is to create a space where my students feel welcome, engaged, and inspired to learn.
I will be painting my classroom with warm inviting colors. I have additional furniture that will allow for space for students to move and comfortably work.
I will be using the two pub table sets, two standing desks, and the folding bench and table set to create different seat choices for students. Student choice provides an atmosphere of learning for students.
I want to make my classroom a special place for my students. I appreciate any help you can give me to achieve this goal!
