My students need flexible seating options such as bean bag pillows, portable lap desks, and a stand up dry erase table. They also need various board games to play and socialize during indoor recess.
As a teacher working in a low income/high poverty school district, I have students who face challenges academically and socially/emotionally both inside and outside the classroom.
My students deserve to have the optimal opportunity for educational success in an environment that is safe, inviting and full of compassion and respect for mankind.
Despite the hardships these students face on a daily basis, they come to school eager to learn and most of all eager to be cared for by not only their peers but also the educators that they encounter day to day.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting will allow my students what they need to be successful learners in the classroom by providing hands-on, kinesthetic approaches to learning and flexible seating arrangements. I just need your help with attaining the materials to make that happen! The huge beanbag pillows and lap desks will allow students to choose where to work most effectively. The floor lamps and desk lamps with help create the home-like environment the children desire to feel comfortable and safe. The Flocabulary subscriptions and Storyworks subscriptions will help enhance classroom learning.
The donations to this project will help to make a comfortable and inviting atmosphere where ample supplies are available for optimal student growth.
