Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are highly motivated to learn. This year's students are excited to learn about the world around them and how everything ties into what they learn in school. They are a special group of young kids who have a deep love of learning and want to improve themselves.
Our students strive to be successful not only for themselves but for their community.
The community around our school is very strongly knit and works hard to make sure all our students succeed.
My Project
These magazines will help students connect to how science is part of our daily lives. Students will also practice reading non-fiction texts in a manner that is highly engaging. Making meaningful connections helps students be able to grasp new concepts with a love of learning.
Our students will be able to engage in text from Scholastic's Science World that is current and relevant to their lives.
Many of the resources that we have are outdated and lack a connection to students. Your donation will ensure that our students are developing critical-thinking skills, while also staying current in science news around the world. Last year was the first year that we had these magazines for the students and they loved reading every article and learning about their world with a focus on science.
