A Cozy Space for Big Learning

My Project

My kindergarten classroom is filled with curious, eager learners who thrive when they have engaging, hands-on opportunities to explore and grow. The majority of my students come from low-income families, and many are part of military families due to our school's close proximity to a military base. For many of my students, school is a place of stability, comfort, and belonging.

The resources in my project will help create a warm, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where every child can succeed.

A circle time carpet will provide a designated space for building classroom community, sharing stories, and participating in daily lessons together. Big books will encourage a love of reading by allowing all students to actively participate in interactive read-aloud while strengthening early literacy skills.

The multicultural puppets will help students see themselves represented in our classroom while also learning to appreciate and celebrate the diverse backgrounds of others. These puppets will encourage storytelling, language development, social-emotional learning, and meaningful conversations about kindness, empathy, and inclusion.

With these materials, my students will have the tools they need to build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Your support will help create an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, represented, and excited to come to school each day.
