Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The fourth grade students in my class are kind and thoughtful! They write me sweet notes, draw me pictures and always help out in the classroom.
My students are awesome!
They are a great group of kids that love reading and learning! I have the pleasure of learning new things about them everyday. Fourth grade is tough but my students show me everyday that they are ready to challenge themselves so they can be successful in school. We learn from each other and never give up. I am so proud of them!
My Project
My students come to school everyday ready to accept the challenges of learning what is being taught to them. I would like the opportunity to give them a more welcoming environment by providing flexible seating where they can feel comfortable and relaxed. Going through school is tough. I want to make the kids excited about being at school and give them options when they are working. We know as adults that we don't always feel comfortable sitting at a desk all day, but our students don't have many other options.
Students work better when they are comfortable in their environment.
Providing a more comfortable environment for my students will create a better classroom climate, and allow students an alternative to sitting at a desk all day. The cozy carpet and floor chairs will give students a great place to read and work together. The bouncy chairs will give students a chance to get out some of their wiggles without disturbing other students. I think flexible seating will help my students feel better about their classroom environment and help them by providing opportunities to collaborate together and move comfortably around the classroom.
