My students come to school everyday ready to accept the challenges of learning what is being taught to them. I would like the opportunity to give them a more welcoming environment by providing flexible seating where they can feel comfortable and relaxed. Going through school is tough. I want to make the kids excited about being at school and give them options when they are working. We know as adults that we don't always feel comfortable sitting at a desk all day, but our students don't have many other options. Students work better when they are comfortable in their environment. Providing a more comfortable environment for my students will create a better classroom climate, and allow students an alternative to sitting at a desk all day. The cozy carpet and floor chairs will give students a great place to read and work together. The bouncy chairs will give students a chance to get out some of their wiggles without disturbing other students. I think flexible seating will help my students feel better about their classroom environment and help them by providing opportunities to collaborate together and move comfortably around the classroom.
