My Project

My students learn and play best when they are comfortable. We offer lots of different types of seating in my classroom. These include regular chairs, wiggle cushions, Thera-band on chairs, rocking chairs, cushions, and bean bags. Many of my students prefer to sit close to the ground to feel secure. Bean bags offer this feeling. However, bean bags deflate, get squished, and loose their overall shape after time and use.

A Nugget would give my students the opportunity to build their own seating and offer supportive and unique options.

A Nugget is a one of a kind and durable piece of furniture that is kid and adult approved. It comes with four pieces, a base, cushion, and two triangle pillows. These pieces can be used individually or together. The options are endless! It can transform from a couch to a chair to an inclined resting space. It can also be arranged to make a nook for students seeking tight spaces to regulate their sensory needs. A Nugget offers a far more supportive option than a bean bag chair or cushion for my students with physical impairments.
