Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am proud to be a teacher at my school. Our school is a small country school. Although we are a small school, my students have big minds full of potential.
My goal, as their teacher, is to provide a warm and welcoming classroom that puts my students first.
This will allow my students to feel safe and secure, causing them to reach their full learning potential. My classroom encourages active participation in learning. My students work independently, in groups with their peers, and as a whole class. My classroom is also student centered, meaning my students are the pride and joy.
My Project
In my classroom, my students have access to my library. Currently, it is one book case of books. My classroom is in need of some new bookcases to hold all of the books we have been collecting. I am asking for two small bookcases to help expand our library. I am also asking for a small cabinet to hold all of the books I use for my reading groups. Finally, to make the library feel cozy, I am asking for a floor light and two bean bag chairs.
These items will help my students feel excited to check out a new library book.
I want to foster a love of reading with my students. A cozy library is a good place to start. I would like a library that my students never want to leave.
