My Students
A typical day consist of three math class rotations of 75 students working on fluency and small group instruction. During math stations, students will practice typing and illustrating math concepts in creative and interactive ways. These resources are an important part of making this happen.
My students are of African, American, Caribbean, Dominican, and Puerto Rican descent.
They are bilingual and learning English as a second language. They are dedicated, disciplined, and determined to become critical thinkers and social entrepreneurs. They are challenged each day to realize and then maximize their potential as the future leaders of our communities, cities, states, and nation. With your support, they will continue to think critically about new and innovative ways to make a significant difference in the world.
My Project
These resources will allow me to differentiate the instruction to meet the learning needs of both the class and of individual students. Bilingual students will use Chromebooks to learn and practice new math skills and to take an interactive approach to learning math. Flip chart markers and poster boards will allow students to express their understanding of math concepts in creative ways. Student learning will be enhanced by taking picture and creating interactive web pages and videos to teach math concepts. The projectors will be used to project lessons on the board to further engage students during the learning process. The projector will allow me to show three dimensional shapes when teaching geometry. Students will also project their projects on the board when sharing their learning.
Donations to this project will contribute to creating interactive lessons that keep students engaged and excited about learning math.
Your donation will benefit 75 students that are without regular access to technology by helping them get independent practice on math concepts and allowing students to practice typing for the PARCC.
