My Students

My goal for the year is for each child to gain self confidence, practice good school habits, develop a love for learning, and of course, have fun!

I teach an enthusiastic group of 22 kindergarteners in an urban school.

The children have varied learning styles, and come from diverse backgrounds, reflective of our community. It is very much a neighborhood school with dedicated staff and parents.

My Project

The carpet area is the hub of our classroom. The carpet is where we start every morning, read stories, have class discussions, sing songs, and much more. The current carpet we have is old, stained, and has no lines to show the children where to sit. These little learners struggle to locate a personal space, often sitting much too close or too far from another.

Having a spacious classroom carpet with designated personal space would help the children focus, engage, and feel comfortable during carpet time.

The new carpet will provide a better environment for classroom activities throughout the day.
