Help me give my students calming colored chairs that suit their height, so they can be calm and comfortable.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My classroom is a PreK classroom at a public school serving 6 to 9 students in a self-contained setting. My students primarily are students diagnosed with autism, but they can have other disabilities that require specialized instruction for communication as well.
The students in my class are joyous and loving, and they want to learn.
They deserve the world because education should be meaningful and every student should make progress. My students work towards many of the same goals as general education students but in a more specialized and modified way.
My students are such a joy to teach! Every day, they make me laugh or smile with their bright personalities. I want nothing more than to keep those smiles on their faces while they are learning, and that means no worksheets and more hands-on and play-based learning.
I want to be able to embody my school’s mission while I serve these wonderful children. Our mission and vision are to support and inspire every child to think, to learn, to care, to be relentless, and to graduate prepared to love themselves while making an impact on our changing world.
This project is for 8 chairs so all my students are able to sit in seats that are appropriate for their height.
It’s important for students to be as comfortable as possible while they are seated, imagine how you feel when your seat is much too small or large, it is not a great feeling.
These chairs will help students become more motivated to stay in their seats and keep them safe, they are necessary for a great classroom environment. The health and safety of my students are one of my number one priorities and when chairs are too high or low it can sometimes cause safety issues. Please help us get these calming colored chairs.
