A Comfortable, Organized Space for Student Success

Help me give my students a welcoming, organized counseling space with the furniture and supplies needed to support their academic, social, and emotional growth during individual and group counseling sessions.

My Project

My students deserve a counseling office where they can comfortably work, create, plan, reflect, and receive individualized support.

The standing desk will provide students with a designated workspace during counseling activities and academic support sessions.

Students will use the desk to complete reflection activities, write in counseling journals, complete goal-setting worksheets, work on academic planning, review graduation and high school readiness materials, complete career and interest activities, and participate in individual or small-group counseling activities. Students who need a change from traditional seating will also have the option to stand while completing appropriate counseling or academic tasks. The desk will allow me to position materials at a comfortable height while working directly alongside students rather than having students sit at my desk.

The printer cart will keep the printer and student materials organized and accessible within the counseling office. I regularly print resources that students use during counseling and academic support, including goal-setting worksheets, coping strategies, reflection sheets, academic planning documents, career exploration activities, behavior reflection forms, college and career resources, small-group activities, and other student support materials.

The plastic desk cover will protect the student workspace during hands-on activities. Students may use the desk for writing, coloring, creating vision boards, completing interactive counseling activities, working with markers and other classroom materials, and participating in social-emotional learning projects. The mouse pad will support students when they use a computer or other technology at the standing desk.

Most importantly, these resources will be used directly by students—not simply as office furnishings for the counselor. Students will sit or stand at the workspace, complete counseling activities, use technology, write, reflect, create, plan for their futures, and work one-on-one with me on academic, social-emotional, and career-related goals.
