This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Sparking curiosity and a love of learning is the goal of my fourth grade classroom. My students represent diverse backgrounds, learning needs, and strengths. Despite being in a Title I/low income school, my students strive to show their leadership as active participants in their own learning. We have an amazing community of families that reinforce the importance of education in order to find future success.

My Project

The benefits of flexible seating are abundant! I want to transform my classroom into a highly functional space, and these bean bags will contribute tremendously. Children learn best and are more productive classroom citizens when they have some control over their learning environment. In a classroom with flexible seating, students will have the opportunity to be their best learners.

Imagine the joy of spending day after day in a comfortable learning zone.

This is the environment that I wish to provide for my students. I want them to feel comfortable as a first step towards their positive learning experience. Students are learning to share our classroom space and are exploring various seating options on a daily basis. They currently choose from floor, table, desk, and sofa seating. The new bean bags will add to the seating options within our classroom.
