This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a blank slate. In year one Kindergarten, I get many students that have never been to school before. It's my job to show them that school is awesome, learning is fun, and sitting at your desk all day is not what we do! We cover a lot of academics, along with social and emotional learning each day.
My school believes in "Kindergarten to College," which is a huge motivator for our families, most of whom live near the poverty line.
It is my privilege to begin their journey to success with hands-on learning and interactive lessons.
My Project
I love making games for my students to help them practice their letters, sounds, numbers, and other concepts we are working on. Having a color printer not only makes these games prettier, but it makes the pictures make more sense to the students when they can see them in color.
Printer ink is expensive and we would be forever grateful for more cartridges for the new school year.
I love the impact of being able to print things like pictures for word walls, pictures for our classroom rules, and personalized books for the class on a color printer. These documents become instantly more captivating and intriguing to the students when they are colorful.
