Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 23 awesome TK/Kindergarten students who are culturally diverse. Our school is a Title I school in southern California where all students receive free meals. I have a group of amazing and deserving kids. They are learning from each other and about each other's culture.
My number one goal is to help all my students achieve the skills they need to be successful in school and in life.
To capture their interests, I need resources to help make learning enjoyable!
My Project
Children tend to have an infinite capacity for making messes, especially when we have breakfast in class with my 23 very adorable TK/kindergartners! I don't mind the cleaning because with breakfast in class, I know my little ones are starting off the day on the right note and full stomachs! Our three custodians do a great job keeping our school and rooms clean, but they can only vacuum and sweep our classrooms once a week. If you know 5-year-olds, you know after one day the floor is not so clean! I had bought a Swiffer mop and do spot cleaning but it just leaves trail marks all over! Especially when there is a milk spill! The steam mop I'm requesting would help maintain a clean, inviting, healthy learning environment for my kiddos!
I want my students to enter a clean classroom every day so they are happy and ready to learn!
A disorganized, unkempt, or clutter-filled classroom sends the message to your students that poor behavior and middling work habits are acceptable. I do my best to keep it clean and my little ones do their best to help. The right tools will definitely make a difference!
