Hello! This project is for the classroom that supports the gifted population at our public elementary school. The students at our elementary school are from a variety of socioeconomic statuses. Many of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches. The students vary greatly, but one thing they have in common, is they love having a place where they can come be with other gifted students who are experiencing similar things.
Our program has grown, and with growth, we now have our own classroom.
These items will help to create the environment where our students will feel safe and comfortable.
My Project
With these items, my students will walk into a classroom that has a light, clean, up-lifting scent. We’ll be well stocked with wipes to help us keep our highly transitional space clean, and we’ll have plenty of tissues for the times when we need to prevent spreading germs. Did I mention that my classroom, in an open concept school (meaning limited doors and walls) is right next to the bathroom? These items will hopefully help me provide a happy, healthy, clean space for my students, despite the sound of flushing.
I hope to invite my elementary students to help me name the diffuser, which is shaped like pig.
