Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a public charter school that is supported largely through donations and fundraisers. The majority of my students come from low-income households and participate in the free or reduced lunch program.
We need some help.
We are a public charter school with a high English Language Learner population and a significant portion receiving free or reduced-price meals. Our school has a large proportion of students with ADHD or ADHD tendencies. This means that many of our children are easily distracted, often having too much energy that must be focused, and have difficulty staying on task.
My Project
I am asking for some cleaning supplies and snacks for my classroom. In the cleaning supplies, I need sponges, Clorox wipes, microfiber rags, whiteboard cleaner, and air fresheners. I also need a duster and some towels for our pet messes.
A clean classroom environment is vital to the learning process.
Students need to feel safe and comfortable in their classroom environment.
In addition to the cleaning products, I am also asking for snack boxes for my classroom. We have a snack time in the morning, since we have a very late lunch time. I ask my students to bring snacks from home or parents to donate snacks for the class. We never have enough for everyone, and some students have no food to bring from home. It would be amazing to have a stockpile of snacks to provide my students with food options every day.
