My students need clean rugs to read on. They also need to be grateful to others in the community who volunteer and tutor.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title 1 school, where the majority of the students are living in poverty. Thankfully, some of my students get a weekend bag of food donated to them by the local church so they will have food over the weekend. I am an ESL teacher and help students become proficient readers. My students are smart, silly and full of life. I make my reading class a safe place for my students since home isn't always a safe place for them.
My Project
At our title one school 100 percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch. We have grab and go breakfast every morning. Students leave crumbs all over the classroom. These crumbs cause little critters to wander into our classroom. Our school is the oldest elementary school in Charlotte and is going to be rebuilt in the next 2-3 years. I was hoping these vacuums could prevent us from getting rodents. In addition, our school is filled with church volunteers that we need to thank on a regular basis. The student's parents work two and three jobs to put food on the table so our church volunteers are over the top and deserve to be thanked.
