The excitement my students and I shared as we opened the boxes was contagious! The kids were so excited to explore the different items. We have been busy playing with play dough while taking about actions (push, roll, cut); it seems as if many of my students have never had the opportunity to use cookie cutters and scissors while playing with play dough. We are currently teaching colors and the play dough came with a great assortment for the kids to practice labeling to request. \r\nIn addition, we have set up the sensory table which has been a big hit. My students love the way the feels and have enjoyed finding alphabet treasures as they scoop and dig. \r\nLastly, the girls have absolutely loved the dress up clothes. They are learning to dress independently and really enjoy all of the accessories included. They like to look at themselves in the mirror and are learning to share and take turns with the dress up items. \r\nWe are having so much fun with the amazing additions for our classroom, the kids LOVE coming to school and LOVE learning by exploring!","fullyFundedDate":1734554187525,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-rich-center-time/8714675/","projectTitle":"Sensory Rich Center Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lorraine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1464829_orig.jpg?crop=676,676,x0,y141&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724857434310","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-jenlorraine"},{"teacherId":9741687,"projectId":8759547,"letterContent":"We can't thank you enough for funding our project! We received many hands-on activities which is perfect for my special needs students. They learn best by actively exploring and engaging in their learning. For example, when we do our morning song we use the instruments we were gifted and it has increased student participation since they are excited to play the instruments! We were also gifted \"robot letters\". Letters are not very exciting for most of my students, but robot letters, they can't get enough! In addition, we received a set of Pete The Cat books. These books have repeating, musical refrains which the children love.
