My students need an LCD projector in the classroom. For my new school year, I was planning on using technology to teach, and I need a projector to show presentations.
I became a fifth grade teacher at my school. As it goes, usually the new teacher gets what the other teachers do not want. I had a hard time getting computers into my room, and it's harder finding a projector. I need one to show presentations and any information I present as a whole to the class.
I have an economically disadvantaged group of kids.
They seemed amazing at my "meet the teachers" and I just can't wait to expose them to as much information that their little brains can hold. In order to present to these curious growing minds, I need a projector to show things like virtual field trips, video help, visual help, and different activities to help them pass STAAR. My students attend a school on the southside of San Antonio, and it's a Title I school with not much funding for technology.
My students haven't been exposed to much outside the southside of town. Some haven't even been to the zoo or a museum. Some students can't afford a computer for their own personal use. With the use of an LCD projector I can project various virtual field trips, online assessments, and tools that can help them be successful and to help them pass the STAAR. My kids are very capable of being amazing learners, they just need the right resources to help them see that.
This projector is going to last me for many years of teaching.
I believe that visuals are an amazing set of learning skills that young students have and being able to see "on a big screen" what I am teaching will enhance their learning greatly.
