My Project

My students are curious, energetic, and full of potential. As sixth graders, they are beginning an exciting new chapter, and I want my classroom to be a place where they feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. Through our study of Ancient Civilizations through 1400, I want students to experience history as more than names and dates. I want them to explore, ask questions, collaborate, and make connections to the world around them.

This is my second year teaching, and my first year taught me just how much goes into creating a successful learning environment.

As a first-year teacher, I simply did not know what to expect or what resources I would truly need. Because of that, my classroom was fairly bare last year and lacked many of the organizational, comfort, and learning resources I now know can make a difference.

This year, I have a much better understanding of what my students need. Storage carts, organizers, shelves, and bulletin boards will help keep our classroom organized and materials accessible. Cleaning supplies will help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Comfortable seating, a bean bag chair, rug, and storage bench will create flexible spaces for reading, collaboration, and independent work. Snacks and treats will provide encouragement and help build a positive classroom community. Books about Ancient Egypt and Greek and Roman mythology will give students additional opportunities to explore the civilizations we study.

My goal is to take what I learned during my first year and create the classroom my students deserve; a place where they feel that they belong, their learning matters, and they have the resources they need to succeed. With your support, we can transform a once-bare classroom into a welcoming, organized, and engaging learning environment where students can learn, explore, and thrive.
