My classroom is a diverse group of learners all with great minds and hearts. They are an inquisitive, artistic and energetic group. and love the chance to grow as learners. They bring a kindness of heart that inspires their peers and me.
The biggest desire of my students is to have a class rug we can all fit on, endless supplies of black expo markers and one or two iPads that would allow them to be able to extend their learning.
Our school is a K-2 school in West Virginia this allows my students to be the big kids and participate in learning opportunities with other grade levels.
My class enjoys doing station work on the floor and having a rug to do it on would make it more comfortable for them. We will have a great meeting spot with a classroom rug that will allow us to have a warm spot on the floor to sit and will allow us to stretch out and work with our partners in a flexible sitting mode. Expo markers will be used everyday on our white boards for whole group reading and math, for station work and for independent work.
A class rug will invite my students to spread out and bring their work to the floor.
Students can work in small groups on the floor and be comfortable doing so.
