My class enjoys doing station work on the floor and having a rug to do it on would make it more comfortable for them. We will have a great meeting spot with a classroom rug that will allow us to have a warm spot on the floor to sit and will allow us to stretch out and work with our partners in a flexible sitting mode. Expo markers will be used everyday on our white boards for whole group reading and math, for station work and for independent work. A class rug will invite my students to spread out and bring their work to the floor. Students can work in small groups on the floor and be comfortable doing so.
